A domesticated female dog who's been adopted by the coyotes is awaken by sounds of excitement. She sees that the pack is gathered around something. She breaks through the circle of animals and sees the human child. She has an epiphany in which she "breaks through the circle of time" to undo her inability to be a mother.
She rescues the boy and raises him as her own among the coyotes.
